Cardi B Scores First Gold Plaque for 'Bodak Yellow'

A lot can change in a matter of months -- just ask Cardi B, whose ubiquitous hit "Bodak Yellow" sprinted to the No. 3 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 and earned the rapper a spot on MTV VMA pre-show stage this past weekend. And Cardi's hot streak might be only getting started. The Bronx native's summer anthem recently went gold, adding on to her already hefty run of accomplishments.

Cardi's infectious hit has garnered praise from a slew of artists, many of whom opened their platform to allow the rapper to perform her track. Drake brought her out during his OVO Fest in Toronto, Migos invited Cardi to their Veld Festival set and 21 Savage welcomed her to his stage at one of his recent shows. A Brooklyn elementary school teacher recently went viral for remixing "Bodak Yellow" to help her geography students retain information.

Cardi will headline Power 105.1's annual Powerhouse 2017 concert, taking place at the Barclays Center in October. She will be joined by Migos, The Weeknd, French Montana, Lil Uzi Vert and more.
