Watch Trapo Flex His Creative Muscles in 'Blue Shirt': Premiere

Ben Vogel

Wisconsin is quickly becoming a state that grooms quality MCs. First, Milwaukee's Ishdarr graced the hip-hop scene with his majestic wordplay and now, Madison's own, Trapo, is etching a path for himself with his lucid delivery. Today (Sept. 1), Trapo premieres his new video "Blue Shirt," which highlights his savvy creativity visually and lyrically.

In the video, Trapo and his female counterpart use vintage camcorders to capture every memory spent together. Enthralled by the beauty of his leading lady, Trapo hopes to finesse his way into a long-term relationship. "Lower the price for me/ If you was for real, what's the matter with rolling the dice for me," he raps. For Trapo, "Blue Shirt" will lead track off the MC's new album, Ford 4 Door.

"I wanted to experiment with a different sound on this one. I want to fuse the lyrical rap tradition with experimental trap sounds," he tells Billboard. "Blue Shirt" is from my upcoming project Ford 4 Door, which really focuses on elevating my sound & experimentation in general."

Ford 4 Door will serve as the follow-up to his 2016 acclaimed project Shade Trees. Check out the video for "Blue Shirt" below. To complement his single, Trapo is also releasing "Blue Shirts" on his site.
