It's their first collaborative song released in nearly a decade.

Hundreds of fans gathered at Livewire Festival on Sunday to witness the reunion of DJ Jazzy Jeff and Will Smith and were in for a surprise when the rap duo debuted a new track titled "Get Lit", the pair's first collaborative track in nearly a decade.

From the offset, "Get Lit" begins as a downtempo, reggae-tinged rhythm with steady drum kicks then picks up pace with complimenting drum strikes and loopy synths. The beat continues to build and as the bass drops, lively synth textures are laid over the rhythmic melody with the venue's speakers amplifying the already expansive beat. "Light up the place now/ Get lit with it/ What? You can't get with it," Smith rapped to the energetic crowd waving LED necklaces and wands as the duo performs.

According to NME, Smith said the song was created in light of the "chaos and confusion” going on in the world. "I wanted to make a song that allowed people to let their light shine. We all have an inner light and sometimes this world," Smith said. "People can say stuff to you and tell you you can’t do and you know you can but when they tell you that it kinda knocks you down a bit right so I wanted to make a record that reminded each and every one of y’all to let your light shine.”
