Russ performs during the 2017 Hangout Music Festival at Hangout Beach on May 19, 2017 in Gulf Shores, Ala.

After bolstering his resume with two platinum singles, Russ isn't quite content with his new-found success. On Monday (Aug. 21), the New Jersey upstart released his braggadocios track "The Game."

Over the dreary production, Russ takes numerous swipes at his adversaries. On the opening verse, he rattles off several jabs aimed at hip-hop award shows. "Where do I start damn, man my mind is racing/Hip-hop awards getting chosen by some racists/I'm in the yo, with a bottle of some clear sh-t/You don't know the truth, you just hear sh-t.," spits Russ.

Later on the track, he continues his onslaught with callous disregard. Instead of being subtle, he takes stabs at the VMAs for his recent snub: "F--k MTV, y'all really snubbed me/ How you choosing people with numbers that ain't above me?/ Oh wait, politics/ Playing at these colleges, getting paid more to perform than any scholarship."
