Gucci Mane Announces 'Mr. Davis' Album, Unleashes 'I Get The Bag' Visual With Migos
Gucci Mane may have taken a breather to prepare for the release of his new book The Autobiography of Gucci Mane and upcoming BET reality series, but the rapper is back on the grind. Guwop returned on Friday (August 18) to reveal the release date for his upcoming album, Mr. Davis, and kicked off his promotional run with a new video for "I Get The Bag" featuring Migos.
In the visual for "I Get The Bag," the camera follows Gucci as he heads downstairs and into the foyer of a lavish mansion filled with women and casino tables. Quavo raps the chorus in a style that favors the chorus from Migo's "Slippery." While Offset doesn't appear on the track, Takeoff chimes in right after Quavo rapping about his splurges ("100k spent on a Patek Phillippe") and making his mother proud after performing on Jimmy Kimmel earlier this year.
Over the bouncy melody, Gucci mimics the "Slippery" flow and brags, "I don’t even like to freestyle for free/ I put in the key and I ride the beat/ I won’t even come out the house for free/ I pay a n---a to drive for me," with lingerie-clad women throwing stacks of money around in the background.
Mr. Davis is scheduled to arrive on September 15, just four days before the release of The Autobiography of Gucci Mane. For his eleventh studio album, Guwop assembles an all-star roster to assist him on the 17-track effort. Led by previously released singles "Tone It Down," featuring Chris Brown, and the Nicki Minaj collaboration, "Make Love," the trap star recruits Monica, Ty Dolla $ign, and The Weeknd for some added R&B flair. A$AP Rocky, ScHoolboy Q, Big Sean and more also appear on the album.
