On Thursday (Aug.3), Canadian newcomer David Versis drops his chill mid-tempo track "Made for Me," exclusively on Billboard. Taking elements of nostalgic productions and smooth flows, Versis delivers a promising cut to his potential forever.

Versis tells Billboard that the track was meant as a way to "feel good and hits 'refresh' on the idea of a soulmate... Everybody talks game to get the girl, but this is about showcasing that same appreciation once you’ve got her."

The selling point for Versis' new track is the song's shift in production. "The intention of 'Made For Me' was to switch between different emotions, and tempos, in a way that’s intentional and fresh," he says. "Mikhail [the producer] and I wanted to mix down-tempo ‘trap’ percussion in the verses, and a more upbeat classic hip-hop swing in the chorus to highlight the individual vibes of each section."

The Canadian rapper is no stranger to the music scene, working as a producer behind the scenes for many years. His production highlights include work on Wiz Khalifa's 2014 Blacc Hollywood album and Yo Gotti and T.I.'s collaborative track "King Sh-t". Now, Versis is transitioning into a full-time artist, while selling out shows in his hometown.
