Even though J. Cole is currently embarking on his 4 Your Eyez Only Tour, that didn't stop him from making a surprise appearance at Kendrick Lamar's DAMN. concert in Detroit.

On Wednesday (July 26), Cole caused tremors at The Palace of Auburn Hills when he jumped on stage and performed a three-song set. First, he dove into "Deja Vu," before segueing into several cuts from his third album 2014 Forest Hills Drive. Cole kept the raucous crowd energized with performances of "A Tale of 2 Cities" and "No Role Modelz."

For years, fans have been waiting for the release of Lamar and Cole's collaborative album. Last year, Ab-Soul confirmed the existence of the elusive project during an interview with The Breakfast Club. “They got it. They got something in the works. They’ve been working on that motherf--ker for a while,” said Soulo.

He added: “I want to see that happen. I’m saying, these guys, they’ll have something today and you come back next week…they done brought Cardo Got Wings in here and Dahi. I’m just like, ‘What happened to Sounwave? What’s up?’ I just sit back and just observe.”
