After earning many accolades for his latest album DAMN. including topping the Billboard 200 for a third time while all 14 tracks hitting the Hot 100, Kendrick Lamar watched the hip-hop community praise him for his explosive success. On Monday night (June 19), Lamar returned the love and applauded the current state of hip-hop on Twitter.

“JAY HALL OF FAME. NIPSEY MORE BLACK BUSINESS MOVES. LIL MEECH NAILED HIS PAC DEBUT. 2CHAINZ SNAPPIN THE WHOLE ALBUM. RAP RUN IT 4EVER!," he tweeted

Last week, JAY-Z -- who recently added the hyphen back into his moniker -- became the first rapper inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. As for Nipsey Hussle, he made a huge impact on his hometown of Crenshaw when he opened up what he called a "smart store" in the area. The grand opening for the Marathon Store featured a slew of celebrities, including NBA All-Stars DeMarcus Cousins and Russell Westbrook.

Demetrius Shipp Jr., who K. Dot referred to as "Lil' Meech" in his tweet, played the role of Tupac in the Benny Boom-directed film All Eyez on Me. The movie earned $27 million in the box office during its opening week.

Last week, 2 Chainz and Lamar were spotted together at the All Eyez on Me premiere. That same week, Chainz released his new album Pretty Girls Like Trap Music, which spawned fiery singles including "Good Drank" and "It's a Vibe."
