Dave East attends the 2016 Roc Nation Summer Classic Charity Basketball Tournament at Barclays Center of Brooklyn on July 21, 2016 in New York City.

Even though Dave East is quickly becoming a burgeoning rap star, the Harlem MC might have a calling in another industry.

In an Instagram post, supermodel extraordinaire, Tyra Banks, gave East a huge co-sign when she suggested that he pursue a modeling career. “So @daveeast, why you out here making music but not modeling? #MaleModel," she asked underneath a picture of East smiling. A day later, the "Paper Chasin'" lyricist responded with a light-hearted joke aimed at the former Sports Illustrated model. “Just Tryna Be Like Lil Penny @myfabolouslife," said East under a photo of Banks gripping onto a Penny Hardaway doll.

While Banks might be advocating a modeling career for East, he currently has a lot on his plate. At the moment, he's prepping for the release of his debut album under Def Jam later this year. In addition to that, East is also slated to appear on the Festival Stage for Hot 97's Summer Jam June 11. He'll be joined by several budding stars including Lil Yachty, Young M.A, Casanova, D.R.A.M., PnB Rock, and Phresher.

Take a look at the exchange between East and Banks below.
