Watch A$AP Ferg & Remy Ma Rep New York in 'East Coast' Video
Standing on a circular platform, the Harlem-bred star cooks up hard-hitting bars for his hometown. "This that ground zero music, listen to it / This that children of the sewer finally winning music," raps Ferg in front of a mosh pit. Beaming with New York pride, Remy Ma follows suit by delivering a poignant verse of her own. "On IG, you thumb it up / But in real life, you bum it up / You don't own nothin’, you so frontin' / You Joe Budden, you pump it up," says the Bronx native.
Prior to the release of the video, Ferg spoke highly of the Bronx rapstress. "It's so dope working with Remy Ma because she's a dope and funny individual," he said in a statement sent to Billboard. "And she's so professional. Getting into the studio with her, in the booth -- I know why Big Pun wanted to make her his protege and invest in her coming up in the game. She's just an amazing person, and I feel like there was nobody else better to kick this new song off with."
Ferg also told Billboard that his mission was to showcase New York's high-energy level with his latest visual. "As far as creating the song and the visual, I just feel like I wanted to bring the New York energy back -- bring it back to the fun videos and creativity and innovation," he adds.
