The rapper also launched an 'Unforgettable Dance Challenge' to benefit the charity.
After spotlighting the talented youth of Uganda in the video of his latest track, "Unforgettable" featuring Rae Sremmurd's Swae Lee, French Montana has donated $100,000 and dedicated his "Unforgettable Dance Challenge" to the Mama Hope organization, which supports global entrepreneurship to help end extreme poverty.
After hearing about Mama Hope through a mutual friend, the rapper met with the women and children at the Suubi Center and was compelled to find a way to help them. "I feel like sometimes God puts you in a platform where you're supposed to help other people," French Montana tells Billboard. He adds of his experience abroad, "That touched my heart when I went out there. I wanted to give them the shirt off my back and help as soon as possible."
The funds raised will go towards building the Suubi Health Center and funding local blood banks in Uganda. "With having gone through living in poverty and being happy with nothing, they channel that through their dance moves and their energy," continues French, who was raised in a village for 13 years in Morocco.
