John Legend in the trailer for Netflix's Master of None season 2.

John Legend may be a master pianist but he's been stepping away from the keys and into the spotlight for several big-screen endeavors.

After appearing in the Oscar-winning musical dramedy La La Land and landing a role as Fredrick Douglass on WGN America's Underground (where he also serves as executive producer), the "Love Me Now" singer will also appear in season 2 of Aziz Ansari's Netflix hit Master of None.

In the trailer released on Wednesday (April 5), Legend is seen playing a grand piano for a social gathering. It's unclear whether Legend will simply perform or flex his acting chops on the show but consider his cameo a bonus. Billboard reached out to Legend's rep for comment.

Quick MON refresher: Ansari returns to his home in New York City after traveling all over Italy and basically gets tangled up in adulting from a new job to a complex relationship. Season 2 will return May 12.

Ansari is also no stranger to music. A friend of Kanye West (he even created his own spoof of the rapper's "Famous" video last April), the comic incorporated a Ja Rule skit into his Netflix special Live at Madison Square Garden. Busta Rhymes appeared on season one of Master of None as well.

Watch Legend appear at the :10 mark below.
