Beyoncé made a surprise appearance backstage on Saturday (March 11) at a performance by the Alvin Ailey Dance Theater company event in a show of support for her mother Tina's mentorship foundation, Tina's Angels. “Backstage after the Alvin Ailey dancers performance it was magnificent,” Lawson wrote in a caption of the group of astonished teens and dancers with Queen Bey backstage. "With my beautiful Tina’s Angels and with a few of the mentors. My very gracious daughter who met the girls and spent some time with them and made their day!”

After canceling her planned headlining performance at this year's Coachella due to doctor's orders, Bey has mostly kept a low profile, though she did step out with husband Jay Z and daughter Blue Ivy for last week's premiere of Beauty and the Beast at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood.
