In hopes of cementing his standing in rap, Bronx upstart A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie taps Kodak Black for his new song "Drowning."
Over the melancholic keys, A Boogie ruminates about one day snatching a Grammy for his family. His counterpart, Kodak Black, uses the gloomy soundscape to rap about his hard-nosed demeanor: "Just bought a brand-new chain from Avianne/ N---a with attitude, but I ain’t from Compton."
Last month, Black was arrested for violating his probation, causing a slew of tour dates to be rescheduled. His label, Atlantic Records, said in a statement, "We are sorry to hear about the recent circumstances surrounding Kodak Black. His lawyers are working diligently on this matter and are hopeful that this will be resolved by next week. The remainder of Kodak Black’s 'Back and Better' Tour has been postponed. Details on rescheduled tour dates forthcoming."
