John Legend could not hold his tongue. On Wednesday (March 8), which happened to be International Women's Day, the singer was so incensed by a comment he read by Fox News anchor Bill O'Reilly he had to go all in on the O'Reilly Factor host.

The incident began when O'Reilly tweeted "Unruly Andrea Mitchell escorted from press conf," a reference to NBC News' veteran Chief Foreign Affairs Correspondent. "The NBC host shouts questions at Secretary of State Rex Tillerson," O'Reilly added. Legend quickly responded, "She's not your granddaughter, Billy. She's a seasoned journalist asking important questions."

Mitchell, who has been a reporter for 50 years, attempted to ask Tillerson a question during a photo op with Ukranian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkinon on Tuesday, inquiring about Chinese threats of retaliation for U.S. anti-missile defenses in South Korea. She was ushered out fo the room after making the inquiry.

Legend wasn't the only one who backed up Mitchell for her determined reporting.

Mitchell, of course, got the last, best word.
