Chance the Rapper's gift of $1 million to Chicago Public Schools is receiving a whole lot of praise, including some very kind words from the former first lady of the United States.

Michelle Obama tweeted thanking Chance for his announcement on Monday (March 6), calling him "an example of the power of arts education."

She also gave props to the "Chicago community" the 23-year-old emcee is giving back to, saying it "gave us so much."

Both Chance and Obama were born and raised in Chicago.
