Nicki Minaj Fires More Shots on Gucci Mane's 'Make Love': Listen
The hypnotic club track finds Gucci in a celebratory mood, as he gushes about making "2 mill a day." In addition, he also raps about his lofty wedding aspirations. "I'm trying to book Beyonce for my wedding day/I'm the type of n---a to spend a million on a wedding cake," he raps.
Nicki Minaj delivers an equally compelling verse wrapped around her huge bank account and also taking aim at another rapper. "Oh you the qu-e-e-the queen of this here?/One platinum plaque, album flopped, b---h, where?," she spits. This is her second collaboration to surface this week after she featured on Jason Derulo's "Swalla," rhyming some fiery bars: "I gave these b---hes two years, now your time's up/Bless her heart, she throwing shots but every line sucks."
There was speculation that Remy Ma was the target of Minaj's shots following her verse on Phresher's "Wait a Minute" remix. Remy Ma addressed the potential beef in a recent Breakfast Club interview, saying, "If you look at the history of Remy Ma, whenever I’ve had a problem with any female in the entire game, I will say your name. She added, "I am going to say your government. I’m going to look it up and say your mother’s name, your father’s name, your kids’ name. I want you to know I’m talking about you."
Earlier this month, Gucci and Minaj reunited on Instagram. With no signs of beef in the picture, the Atlanta rapper paid homage to the Young Money songstress. "Salute and much respect to @nickiminaj Zone6 stand up!!! #staytuned Legendary," he wrote as his caption.
"Make Love" serves as Gucci and Minaj's first collaboration since 2010 when they teamed up for "Haterade." Minaj is currently working on her fourth album while Gucci Mane will be dropping Drop Top Wop LP this year.
