Kid Cudi returned to the spotlight with a small symphony, a beard and a moody performance of "Kitchen" on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon (Feb. 8).

Two months before releasing his sixth studio effort Passion, Pain and Demon Slayin', the rapper checked into rehab citing depression and suicidal urges. “If I didn't come here, I would've done something to myself," he wrote in a Facebook post last October. "I simply am a damaged human swimming in a pool of emotions everyday of my life.

He continued, "Theres a ragin' violent storm inside of my heart at all times. Idk what peace feels like. Idk how to relax. My anxiety and depression have ruled my life for as long as I can remember and I never leave the house because of it. I cant make new friends because of it. I don't trust anyone because of it and Im tired of being held back in my life. I deserve to have peace. I deserve to be happy and smiling."

Passion, Pain and Demon Slayin', which peaked at No. 11 on the Billboard 200, enlisted features from Travis Scott, Andre 3000 and Pharrell Williams.
