With the hype for the Chris Brown versus Soulja Boy showdown showing few signs of slowing down, rapper and de facto promoter 50 Cent has made it his personal duty to appoint the singer of the national anthem. R&B veteran Kelly Price shared an Instagram photo on Wednesday (Jan. 11) saying that 50 had recruited her for the gig.

"Looking forward to singing the national anthem on fight night with @souljaboy and @chrisbrownofficial Thank you @50cent for trusting me with this! ☺"

The alleged boxing match stems from a beef between Brown and Soulja Boy that bubbled up after the latter allegedly "liked" a photo of Brown's ex, Karrueche Tran, on Instagram. Sparring on social media, Soulja Boy tapped boxing legend Floyd Mayweather to be his trainer while 50 Cent revealed that heavyweight champ Mike Tyson would be in Brown's corner. (Tyson and Brown are also said to be recording a diss track ahead of the event.)

While the bout is slated for March, details on the rumored match are yet to be announced.

Billboard has reached out to Price's rep for comment.
