Donald Glover Calls Migos 'The Beatles of This Generation'

On Sunday night (Jan. 8), Donald Glover paid the ultimate respect to Georgia hip-hop trio Migos when he shouted out their single "Bad & Boujee" during an acceptance speech after his FX show Atlanta took home the trophy for Best TV series at the 2017 Golden Globes.

"I’d like to thank the Migos — not for being on the show, but for making ‘Bad and Boujee," said Glover -- also known as rapper Childish Gambino -- referencing the Atlanta group's latest hit. After receiving two awards for his FX series, Glover continued to shower the "Fight Night" hitmakers with praise.

"I think that they're the Beatles of this generation and they don't get a lot of respect, I think, outside of Atlanta," Glover said backstage. "Not that they don’t get respect, but there's a generation, sort of like the YouTube generation that I kind of came up with. There's a generation of kids that are growing up on something that's completely separate from a whole group of people."

"Honestly, that song is just fly. There's no better song to have sex to," added Glover of "Bad & Boujee."

Migos then thanked Glover on Twitter for his gracious words and promoted their forthcoming album Culture. "Thank You Donald Glover! #Culture 01.27.17," read the tweet. Not only did they have a brief, memorable cameo in an episode from the first season of Glover's series, but musically, Offset, Quavo and Takeoff have been on a roll. "Bad & Boujee", is currently sitting at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100.
