J. Cole's Fourth Album '4 Your Eyez Only' Due Out Dec. 9

The project would be his first new solo material in two years.

Update (3:31 p.m.): J. Cole's fourth album 4 Your Eyez Only has been confirmed to Billboard and is available for pre-order on iTunes ahead of an expected Dec. 9 release via Dreamville/Roc Nation/Interscope. The 10-track album's cover art has also been confirmed, although no track information is currently available.

Original Story: J. Cole has kept a low profile this year, particularly since announcing at NYC's Meadows Festival in October that he wouldn't be performing again for "a very long time." But that radio silence may be ending soon.

Overnight, a mysterious pre-sale appeared on iTunes that hinted at a 10-song release called 4 Your Eyez Only, due out via Dreamville/Roc Nation/Interscope on Dec. 9, the two-year anniversary of his last album, 2014 Forest Hills Drive. The pre-sale has since been removed, though plenty Twitter users caught it while it was still up.

A rep for Cole could not confirm the album's release date, its title or even its existence as of press time; a rep for Apple declined to comment.

In the two years that have passed since that album, Cole has mostly kept his verses in-house, contributing to his Dreamville Records label compilation Revenge of the Dreamers II, released Dec. 8, 2015 (it seems that Cole really likes releasing things around this time of year), and Dreamville artist Bas' March album Too High to Riot, with some contributions to projects from Wale, Chance the Rapper and DJ Khaled interspersed along the way.
