With age and experience comes maturity, and with the days of his teen pop hit "Like Em All" in the rear-view mirror, Jacob Latimore's growth is reflected in his previously released singles "The Real" and "Remember Me." Now the 20-year-old crooner is back with "Mutual," the second single from his upcoming debut album, Connection, on his indie imprint Jacob Ink, out Dec. 9.
The three-minute bedroom banger finds the rising R&B singer's vocals feathered over a soothing melody with subtle kicks creeping in as he considers his actions and the pain he'd feel if his girl flipped the script on him. “This song is a real R&B record. ‘Mutual’ is about me being able see things from a different perspective after realizing that my girl could be doing the same things I've done in the past," Latimore tells Billboard. "The feeling of that, the heartbreak, is ‘Mutual.'”
