Exactly one week ago, Childish Gambino gifted fans with "Me and Your Mama," the first track from his highly anticipated upcoming album, Awaken, My Love! Now he's done it again: The new track "Redbone" debuted on Annie Mac's BBC Radio 1 show, and Gambino also shared it on his own Facebook page.

The slow, R&B-tinged track oozes with passionate soul and sees Gambino -- aka Atlanta star/creator Donald Glover -- sing with compelling conviction. A funky bass line starts things off and remains present throughout, acting as the guiding force for the various elements that are later introduced, from the church-inspired choir to Gambino's impressive vocals. Gambino primarily dips into his upper register here, almost sounding unrecognizable. Both "Me and Your Mama" and "Redbone" largely take a turn from how he rapped on 2013's Because the Internet, though they further expand on 2014's Kauai. That being said, these two new tracks are still far beyond Gambino's previous work in terms of risk and production -- it appears Gambino has been awakened indeed.

Awaken, My Love! arrives Dec. 2. Listen to "Redbone" below:
