Several weeks ago, Joey Bada$$ informed his fans that his sophomore endeavor, AABA, was nearly complete. On Tuesday (Nov. 8), the Brooklyn rapper explained on Twitter why he needs more time to perfect the quality of his new album and revealed that he will be pushing his project back to the top of 2017.

“The new music is well worth the wait!” he wrote on Twitter. “Today was the original release date for my upcoming album. But it’s been delayed 4 perfection. I wanna say top of next year… new bada$$ album…”

So far, Bada$$ tossed several singles out including "Devastated" and "Front & Center," both finding Joey in his comfort zone lyrically.

Last year, he wowed critics with a Billboard 200 Top 5 debut with B4.Da.$$. The politically charged album featured marquee producers including DJ Premier and Hit-Boy, who helped tailor their beats to the Pro Era MC's exemplary wordplay abilities.

"I wanna say top of next year... new bada$$ album... #AABA #AABA #AABA #AABA #PROERARECORDS," Bada$$ also teased.
