John Legend released a snippet of the video for his newest single "Love Me Now" on Friday morning (Nov. 4). The anthemic, heart-warming track is the first taste of his forthcoming album, Darkness and Light, set for release on Dec. 2.

"And who's gonna kiss you when I'm gone/ I'm gonna love you now like it's all I have," the multi-faceted singer coos in the video, which flips between clips of Legend's wife model Chrissy Teigen and their newborn daughter Luna and couples displaying their affection for one another. Darkness and Light is Legend's fifth studio and it centers on the social issues proliferating the world today, an area Legend has long been an advocate for, as evidenced by his roadwork on behalf of democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

The singer and new dad also wrote a song titled "Right By You (for Luna)" for the new light of his world, his daughter. For the forthcoming project, Legend teamed up with producers John Ryan (One Direction, Jason Derulo) and Blake Mills, who produced Alabama ShakesSound & Color. Chance the Rapper, Miguel and Alabama Shakes' Brittany Howard also make guest appearances on the album.

"A lot of the difference is just my own evolution as a person, as a father and as a husband," he says about his Darkness and Light. "This will be the first time I’ve made an album, given those life changes that I’ve gone through. And I think you can hear it in the music.”

Darkness and Light is available for pre-order here. Watch the preview of the official video for "Love Me Now" below.
