A new Tribe Called Quest album is officially due out Nov. 11 via Epic Records. The iconic New York City hip-hop group's sixth album, its first since 1998's The Love Movement and first new release since founding member Phife Dawg's death March 22, will be followed by a performance on Saturday Night Live on Nov. 12, according to sources.

Q-Tip posted a hand-written announcement with the news to Facebook on Thursday (Oct. 27). In it, he said that this will be the final Tribe Called Quest album and will feature Busta Rhymes and Consequence, as well as recordings of Phife Dawg tracked before his death.

"No, this isn't filled with old Phife Bars.. This is that Pure, unstepped on Pure!!" Tip wrote.

While few details have been revealed, Epic boss L.A. Reid said in an interview in August that a new Tribe record was on the way "soon," adding that it was recorded before Phife passed away and will feature the full Tribe lineup: Phife, Q-Tip, Ali Shaheed Muhammad and Jarobi White. "I'm really happy about it man, it's really something special," Reid said at the time. "It's one of the things I'm most excited about over everything we're working on."

Additionally, Tribe will be the musical guest on Saturday Night Live following the album's release, with rumors of a special guest joining the group for a special performance (a rep for NBCUniversal said the company could not confirm at this time whether Tribe will be a musical guest). The group reunited in 2013 to open dates on Kanye West's Yeezus Tour, their last public performances together before Phife's passing.

On Nov. 19, after the release of the album, the section of Linden Boulevard and 192nd Street in Queens -- where the group filmed the video to their 1991 single "Check the Rhime" -- will be renamed Malik "Phife Dawg" Taylor Way in honor of the late MC.
