T.I. Joins VH1's 'The Breaks'

T.I. is stretching his acting legs again, joining VH1's upcoming hip-hop drama series The Breaks in a recurring role as powerful attorney Paul Anders. Tip -- who has appeared in Ant-Man, Get Hard and House of Lies, as well as five seasons of VH1's T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle -- will join a cast that includes Afton Willamson (HBO’s The Night Of...), Wood Harris (The Wire), Mack Wilds (90210), Antoine Harris (Ballers), David Call (The Magicians), Evan Handler (Sex and the City), Melonie Diaz (Fruitvale Station), Sinqua Walls (Power) and Ali Ahn (Billions), and recurring players  Teyana Taylor (G.O.O.D Music/Def Jam Recordings) and Gloria Reuben (Mr. Robot).

His character will defend Harris' Barry Fouray after a public scandal, according to a VH1 release. The series inspired by journalist Dean Charnas' narrative history of the hip-hop business The Big Payback aired as an original film on VH1 in January and will return in January 2017 to follow the lives of three young friends chasing their hip-hop dreams.
