Mary J. Blige is leaving the bad days behind her on her triumphant new single "Thick of It." The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul proves just how ride-or-die she is by putting her lover on notice.

"And I be damned if all these years I let you diss me babe," she sings over the soulful DJ Camper-produced beat. "I was there when no one wanted to stay with you baby/ You know I deserve more than this."

MJB recently filed for divorce from her husband and manager Martin "Kendu" Isaacs, after 12 years of marriage. Despite the marital drama, she has been lining up professional wins lately, interviewing Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton for her Apple Music talk show The 411, booking a gig on the ABC smash How to Get Away with Murder and touring with Maxwell.

The Jazmine Sullivan-penned "Thick of It" marks the first offering from Blige's forthcoming album, the follow-up to 2014's London Sessions. She recently told The Hollywood Reporter in June that the album is "mostly complete," and that she had a chance to work with a hip-hop A-lister. "I absolutely got a chance to work with the great Kanye West. And the song is crazy — I can't wait for people to hear it," she teased.
