2016 BET Hip Hop Awards: T.I. Channels Black Panther Party for 'We Will Not' Performance

T.I. paid homage to the Black Panther party while speaking on social injustice during his 2016 BET Hip Hop Awards performance of "We Will Not" on Tuesday night (Oct. 4).

The Atlanta rapper rocked an all-black outfit with a black beret in honor of the Revolutionary party before bringing out a group of protestors, holding signs that read "Fight the power," "We will not," and "Us or else." Two white men playing police officers knocked each one down before falling to Tip's feet. An image of Black icon Martin Luther King, Jr. also flashed across the screen.

"United we stand -- look around and see the power around you. We gotta stand together," he said at the end of his performance. "It's us or else. It's do or die. The time is now. They can't kill us all."

"We Will Not" appeared on Tip's politically charged EP Us or Else, which dropped on Sept. 23.
