Kendrick Lamar Presents 'I Am Hip Hop' Award to Snoop Dogg at 2016 BET Hip Hop Awards

Compton's MVP Kendrick Lamar presented the "I Am Hip Hop" Award to hip-hop veteran Snoop Dogg, at Tuesday night's BET Hip Hop Awards (Oct. 4).

"Through his examples, we discovered our own transformative abilities to make a mark on our art," he said, saluting the Long Beach rapper for his unique style and masterful flow. "No other rappers can simultaneously give you records like "Murder Was The Case," and at the same time, make every beautiful woman, drop it like it's hot. Snoop Dogg was the guy and he continue to be."

He also praised Snoop for "making accounting sound dope," before leading the crowd into Snoop's verse on Dr. Dre's "Nuthin But a 'G' Thang." 

Following a montage of testimonials from Dr. Dre, Pharrell, Charlie Wilson and YG paired with reflections from Snoop himself, Lamar told the Doggfather standing in the crowd, "I wouldn't be on this stage without you, man."
