Lupita Nyong'o Unveils Rap Alter Ego, Spits Over Nas' 'NY State of Mind'

Beyond slaying the big screen, actress Lupita Nyong'o can also drop bars. The flawless beauty unveiled her rapper name in a recent Instagram post, where she spits over Nas' "NY State of Mind" off his beloved 1994 debut Illmatic.

"Introducing my alter ego TROUBLEMAKER," read the caption of a video that showed Nyong'o rhyming, "Mexican-born Kenya running through my veins/ Dark chocolate plus I keep a sharp mane." She continues, "Lancome fresh-face, looking tailor-made/ Disney on the books so you know I stay paid/ Next stop Katwe rocking out with David/ Don’t do critics if you’re hating please save it." According to the clip, the verse was also written by a friend.

The Academy Award winning star of the upcoming Queen of Katwe added for good measure, "Ambassador for elephants trying to save the planet/ I’m working on my master plan stunting in a hammock." The video was uploaded in celebration of reaching 3 million Instagram followers.

In a September interview with ET at Toronto International Film Festival, Nyong'o revealed her secret love for rapping. "I fantasize about being a rapper all the time," she added.
