G.O.O.D. Music MC Desiigner was arrested in New York City Thursday night (Sept. 8) and charged with gun and drug charges, according to a spokesperson for the NYPD. The arrest stemmed from an alleged road rage incident that resulted in police pulling over an SUV in which the rapper was a passenger.
"It looks to be a road rage incident involving a Cadillac Escalade around 42nd Street and 8th Avenue in which words were exchanged and a firearm was brandished at the victim's vehicle," a spokesperson for the NYPD told Billboard. According to the NYPD, Desiigner (born Sidney Royel Shelby III) and four other unidentified people were in the SUV when the argument took place and after the gun was pointed at the unidentified victim the driver took down the SUV's license plate and called 911 to report the incident; the news was first reported by TMZ.
