The fashion set is in for a wild ride with the Yeezy Season 4 show before it has even started. Guests headed to Kanye West’s latest runway offering and NYFW kickoff received an email on Wednesday morning directing them to pre-arranged shuttle buses in Midtown, which will drop them off and pick them up at Roosevelt Island.

Pickup is at 1:30 p.m., ahead of the 3 p.m. presentation, and anyone who misses the bus has been pre-warned of a 15-minute walk to the venue from the nearest taxi and driver drop-off location. Roosevelt Island is located in the East River, under the shadow of the Queensboro Bridge.

History side note: over the years, the island between Manhattan and Queens has been home to insane asylums, prisons and hospitals. It's been known as Blackwell's Island, Welfare Island and in 1971 was renamed Roosevelt Island after President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. In recent years, like most of the city, it has become gentrified.

The updated Yeezy invite also included an announcement of a performance by longtime Kanye collaborator, contemporary artist Vanessa Beecroft, who also performed at the debut of Yeezy Season 3 and The Life of Pablo album at Madison Square Garden last February.

This isn’t the first time Kanye is rocking the fashion week boat: over Labor Day weekend, Kanye put out a controversial casting call for “multiracial women only” which prompted serious backlash

For those who weren’t guaranteed a seat on the magic fashion bus, the Yeezy Season 4 show will live-stream on Tidal at 3 p.m. EST.
