VMAs 2016: Chance The Rapper Talks 'Hamilton' Mixtape & Magnificent Coloring World Tour
Chance The Rapper was the real MVP of the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards. From his dancing in the crowd to his priceless reaction to Beyonce video-bombing his backstage interview, the cameras loved the Chicago rhymer.
Before taking his seat inside New York's Madison Square Garden on Sunday night, Lil Chano gave Billboard an update on The Hamilton Mixtape, the highly anticipated project helmed by Lin-Manuel Miranda based on the Broadway hit that will feature many of rap's finest, including Chance. "We're still working on it," he said on the white carpet. "Lin has a lot of stuff going on right now but it'll be coming soon."
Chance also plugged his upcoming trek, the nearly sold out Magnificent Coloring World tour. "Make sure you come see me on tour," he said. "It's mostly sold out but if you're in a city where it's not sold out, come through 'cause the show is crazy." He also offered, "It's better than Drake and Kanye's set."
Earlier this year, Chance released Coloring Book, the first streaming-exclusive album to chart on the Billboard 200.
