Living Legends Foundation Announces 2016 Honorees

In celebration of its 25th anniversary, the Living Legends Foundation has announced the slate of honorees for its annual Living Legends Awards Gala.

The seven honorees include: Russell Street Entertainment/CEG Music CEO Miller London (who will receive the Chairman’s Award), Gray Communications founder/president Tony Gray (Jerry Boulding Radio Executive Award), Interscope senior VP of urban promotion Larry Khan (Music Label Executive Award), Miles Ahead Entertainment CEO Sheila Eldridge (Entrepreneur Award), Sister 2 Sister magazine founder Jamie Brown (Media Executive Award), Pensado’s Place exec. producer/co-host Herb Trawick (Creative Visionary Award) and SOUL newspaper founder/editor Regina Jones (Legacy Award).

Now in its 20th year, the Living Legends Awards Gala will take place on Oct. 6 at Hollywood’s Taglyan Cultural Complex. Troy Carter, Spotify’s global head of creator services, serves as the honorary event chairperson for the dinner/gala with Black Dot partner Pat Shields on board as the dinner committee chairperson.

Under the direction of current chairman David Linton, the Living Legends Foundation was launched in 1991 to honor music industry pioneers and professionals breaking new ground in music, radio and other allied fields. The annual gala also raises funds to provide assistance for those in need. Previous Living Legends honorees include Quincy Jones, Clarence Avant, Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff, BET programming executive Stephen Hill, Epic Records chief Antonio “L.A.” Reid, radio personality Big Boy and Warner/Chappell head Jon Platt.
