Kid Cudi Joins 'Empire' Season 3, Says He 'Can't Be More Geeked for Everyone to See'

Kid Cudi is the latest addition to the Empire family. The rapper/actor shared on Twitter (July 20) that he finished wrapping his first episode of the Fox musical drama and will play the role of Gram in the show's third season. According to Entertainment WeeklyCudi will portray an independent rapper who's a "rival to Hakeem" on the Lyon-filled series, which returns on Sept. 21 at 9 p.m.

"Already wrapped my first episode of "Empire" and cant be more geeked for everyone to see! Only doing dope shit [--] [----] [--] [??]," he posted. "Such a huge honor to be joining the @EmpireFOX family. Everyone has been so f--kin cool, loving and open." He added, "Again, just doing more of whatever the f--k I want [----]."

Cudi (real name Scott Mescudi) is no stranger to the big screen. The "Day 'N' Nite" MC has appeared in various films including the 2016 indie thriller Vincent N Roxxy, the 2015 bromance Entourage and the 2014 action flick Need For Speed alongside Breaking Bad star Aaron Paul. Last year, he also delivered his fifth studio effort Speedin' Bullet 2 Heaven, which received praise from Kanye West and Andre 3000.
