With the 2016 election a few calendar flips away, the Republic and Democratic National Conventions will bring the party to Cleveland and Philadelphia, respectively, this month.

Innovation Live, a platform that aims to merge the worlds of technology and politics through a series of music shows, panels and events at the national conventions, has tapped esteemed DJ/producer Questlove to hold down the tunes at their kickoff party this Sunday (July 17). Quest will host a 10 p.m. set at Cleveland's historic Tequila Ranch for the event, sponsored by Snoop Dogg's cannabis-centered media platform Merry Jane, the University of Pennsylvania, My Democracy among others

A rep for Innovation Live tells Billboard that the event is in no way affiliated or endorsed by The RNC and that Questlove happened to coincidentally be in town during the same time period. Questlove also does not endorse The RNC.
