Drake Filming Long-Awaited 'One Dance' Video in South Africa, According to Instagram
Drake has brought his talents to South Africa for the shoot of his "One Dance" video, according to photos and clips circulating Instagram.
"Meanwhile in Soweto for the One Dance video shoot," read the caption of one flick from sound engineer and percussionist @matikamusic. Fans were also snapping pics with the self-proclaimed "6 God" at the shoot. "I'm still shocked and in denial bruh. Got to meet this living legend in Soweto this morning literally. This life thing has a funny way of working out---- humble dude," offered IG user @luda01.
As Fader points out, the video's director Anthony Mandler posted an Instagram photo from Soweto while Larry Jackson, Apple Music's head of content, and Jamaican act Popcaan also appeared to be on set.
The Canadian rapper was also seen in Johannesburg on June 27 after paying a visit to the Nelson Mandela Foundation. "Celebrating Mandela and talking to the yout dem in Joburg," Drake wrote in an Instagram photo.
In May, Drizzy scored his first Hot 100 No. 1 with "One Dance," which has been shaking in the top spot for seven weeks non-consecutively. His fourth studio effort Views -- initially an Apple Music exclusive -- has also been rocking at the top of the Billboard 200 chart for eight weeks.
Billboard has reached out to reps for Drake and Mandler for comment.
