Joey Bada$$ and Pro Era announced Thursday (May 19) that the second annual Steez Day festival, inaugurated last year as a tribute to fallen friend and fellow MC Capital Steez, is headed to Los Angeles this year. In addition to Joey and the Era -- Kirk Knight, CJ Fly and Nyck Caution -- fellow New Yorkers A$AP Mob will be on the bill, as well as Danny Brown and Raury with more guests expected to be announced soon.

The fest this year will take place at the Novo by Microsoft on July 7, with tickets going on sale tomorrow May 20. Last year's event took place in Central Park as part of New York City's Summerstage concert series, with Dyme-A-Duzin, Smoke DZA, Flatbush Zombies and Phony Ppl in support. And anyone wondering about those special guests this year can rest easy; the first edition featured surprise appearances from A$AP Ferg and Ab-Soul, while Cam'ron, Talib Kweli and more hung out backstage.

Steez is widely credited as the founder of Joey's Pro Era crew and the young visionary behind the Beast Coast movement that also includes Flatbush Zombies and the Underachievers. He died on Christmas Eve 2012, just as the group he founded was beginning to take off and find success outside their own neighborhood. All proceeds from the festival will be donated to Steez's family, according to festival organizers.
