Kanye West's Pablo-sized stardom has earned him a Webby Award. The rapper/designer will be honored with the artist of the year trophy for "changing the cultural paradigm of how music is shared, released, presented & consumed," according to a release (May 4).

'Ye's seventh studio effort, which hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart last month, was released as a Tidal exclusive in February and subsequently streamed 250 million times in its first 10 days, becoming the first album solely available on a streaming service to top the chart.

Beyond music, Kanye's Internet history runs deep. His 2010 G.O.O.D. Friday series -- which offered freebie tracks from his G.O.O.D. Music roster, including the Pusha T, 2 Chainz and Big Sean-assisted posse cut "Mercy" -- and official site ('Ye has hosted a multitude of content from Yasiin Bey's audio message to new song releases) have bolstered his online presence. His Twitter -- home to his thoughts on everything from the Grammys to designing furniture -- also boasts 22.5 million followers.

According to Rolling StoneWest will be attending the Webby Awards at New York's Cipriani Wall Street on May 16. The Webby Awards -- celebrating its 20th anniversary this year -- will also be honoring Marvel's Jessica Jones star Krysten Ritter as Webby Best Actress.
