Black Girls Rock! is filled with magic. The annual awards ceremony celebrating women of color has returned for its 10th go-round to honor some of the history-making women you probably stalk on social media (See: Rihanna and Grey's Anatomy and Scandal showrunner Shonda Rhimes). It was also on Twitter where the hashtag #BlackGirlsMagic was born, thanks to CaShawn Thompson, who coined the phrase in 2014 to describe the accomplishments of black women on timelines and beyond.
Billboard recently chatted with several real-life rock stars including Gladys Knight (who was honored with the Living Legend award), powerhouse Andra Day and singer Kelly Rowland to share their thoughts on Black Girls Rock! and Beyonce's forthcoming project. BGR airs Tuesday night (April 5) on BET at 8/7c.
