Sources tell the newspaper that the police recovered three .380-caliber shell casings. Two suspects were said to have tricked the producer, who was entering his friend's BMW, into believing he dropped something before firing the gun. The suspects fled from the scene on foot.

In May 2013, AraabMuzik was also shot during an attempted robbery. He has produced for the likes of Fabolous, Dipset and A$AP Mob.
