Wiz Khalifa Says He Accepts Kanye West's Apology; Max B Responds to Album Name 'Waves'
Wiz Khalifa is letting bygones be bygones. After Kanye West tweeted that he and Wiz Khalifa laid their beef to rest, the Taylor Gang leader made his press runs to confirm that the MCs have patched things up.
In an interview with Power 105.1's Angie Martinez, the Pittsburgh rapper dropped in to promote his forthcoming sixth studio effort Khalifa. After describing how he landed his own marijuana strain called Khalifa Kush and setting the record straight on his alleged watch theft in Brazil (it was actually his shoe), he offered a simple explanation for his tweets responding to Kanye West's album name Waves.
"I like Max B," he said.
When asked if he was surprised by 'Ye's reaction, Wiz continued, "I think everybody was but it's cool. Everything's cool. We spoke and it's all good ... Yes, he apologized and I accept his apology, and everything's all good. Ain't no animosity.
"It was just meant to be," he said about his call with 'Ye. "There's too many people in between that are awesome for that to be real. The social media thing was one thing but the reality of the situation was we spoke and it's all good." Wiz also said that Amber Rose and Kim Kardashian had spoken and it was "all good."
"I'm like the Bob Marley of this," he laughed. "When you really don't want problems, then they don't happen."
Power 105.1's The Breakfast Club also landed a phoner with Max B, who called in to the radio show from prison to share his reaction to West's new album name.
"It's all love. I appreciate it. I'm flattered that dudes is even acknowledging the situation," said Max B. "Everybody know I'm an innovator. Everybody know I got imagination. I come up with these words and these slogans and these catch phrases and it's all good when the people follow suit. I like Kanye, I appreciate it. I love it, thank you."
Max B continued, "Nah, [Kanye and I] don't have a relationship. I never met him. I feel like he got it from the atmosphere. That's what art is about. We take things from each other -- the creative process. It's all good. He ain't drop a diss record. He just called his album Waves and everybody know I'm the Wavy Daddy so it's all good.
"I never met Wiz either but he good people," he added.
