Chris Brown was in beast mode for his seventh studio album Royalty. The Virginia crooner not only brought his syrupy vocals and dancing feet to the project, he also served as director for all eight of his music videos from the LP.

Whether getting down and dirty in the kitchen for "Back to Sleep" or spending quality time with his daughter Royalty for "Little More," Breezy's small-screen presentations proved his talents behind the camera. For VIBE''s December 2015 digital cover story, he discussed the freedom of having creative control over his art.

“I think creative control is kind of like the total opposite from me. It’s just freedom," he said. "A lot of my doubts -- or a lot of the doubts that are put upon us as people or individuals -- I don’t funnel that to make my life move. The way I look at it is, I’m fearless.”
