R. Kelly Says 'I Know I Can Do Anything When It Comes to Music': Watch His Interview

The multi-talented R. Kelly talked with Billboard about today's music, his future plans and the lasting legacy of "Ignition."

While many artists lean toward purity of their genre, R. Kelly cites the merging of mainstream pop, hip-hop, country and more as one of the things that excites him about today's music. Kelly has been in the public eye for over 20 years, and the singer isn't blind to his success. "I know I can do anything when it comes to music," says Kelly. "I'm pretty much like a piano."

During the interview, Kelly even jokes about his country-inspired fashion choices. And although it comes as a surprise that the R&B superstar would love country, he says he loves it "because it tells stories."

So for an artist who's made a lasting impression on music, what's next? Well, Kelly says he "eventually want[s] to do a worldwide humanity album."

Kelly's upcoming album, The Buffet, will be available Dec. 11. He has already released two singles: "Backyard Party" and "Switch Up."
