Singer's 13th studio album "Better" is slated for January.

Brian McKnight is releasing a new single Friday (Aug. 14), "Uh Oh Feeling." Available on iTunes, Amazon and Spotify, the midtempo track heralds McKnight's forthcoming 13th studio album, Better. The project also marks the new partnership between the Grammy-nominated artist's Brian McKnight Music and Kobalt Label Services. Available for pre-order on Oct. 2, Better will release worldwide in January 2016.

"We've all had that uh oh feeling," McKnight says in a statement. "Suddenly you catch someone staring at you in a certain way from across the room. You're thinking …'What was that? What does that mean? Should I talk to her?' It's that rush you feel in your chest afterwards; that sense of wondering."

Featuring all real instruments, Better is described as a return to basics for the R&B singer/songwriter/producer. McKnight's most recent album, 2013's More Than Words, peaked at No. 10 on Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. Over the course of his career, the singer has scored 10 top 10 albums on that chart, including the 1997 No. 1 set Anytime, and sold 9.3 million albums according to Nielsen Music. McKnight has also racked up 31 entries on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, including four top 10 hits.
