Hip-hop veterans Slum Village are ready for summer with their newest single "Expressive," a groovy ode to the ladies that inspire them, featuring verses from BJ The Chicago Kid and Illa J. The second release off their upcoming eighth album, Yes!, "Expressive" taps a bass-heavy J Dilla beat to keep the classic Slum Village sound intact.

The late producer's work serves as the backbone for the new album, providing the basis for guest appearances from De La Soul, Jon Connor, A Tribe Called Quest's Phife Dawg, Black Milk, and Bilal, among others.

The video, a tribute to "beautiful independent women," showcases an almost Technicolor trip to the shores of the Great Lakes -- if you didn't want to be lounging in the sand before, this video will have you planning your next vacation.
