If you've heard it once, you've heard it a thousand times: the new D'Angelo album is coming. But ever since that album came out, it's been eclipsed by the silence that came after it.

D'Angelo went in and out of the studio and in and out of rehab; no music appeared. More recently, he started playing some shows and worked new songs into his sets -- still, no album. But, now, after countless false alarms, it appears that the wait will soon be over: a listening session for a new D'Angelo full-length titled Black Messiah is taking place on Sunday, Dec. 14th, in New York City.

The event will be hosted by the famous writer Nelson George, who also interviewed D'Angelo in an event earlier this year at the Brooklyn Museum. In conjunction with this announcement, an album teaser hit the internet. Check that out below.
