Though XXL reports the split was reportedly amicable, suspicions are still afloat following Twitter beef earlier this summer between Wale and fellow Maybach Music Group rapper and Roc Nation-management client Meek Mill

In 2009 Wale inked his deal with Roc Nation, whose roster has grown on both management and label fronts. Its management clients include Kanye West, Rihanna, Timbaland, Grimes, Haim and others. As a label, Calvin Harris, Rihanna, Jay Z, J. Cole and Rita Ora are all on board.

In the statement, 77 North, which is headed up by Maverick Carter, Leonard Brooks, and Rich Paul, told Revolt, "Wale's growth and maturity is clear, as he continues work on his best project to date. Its rollout has a lot to do with his new management, who have only been associated with the biggest and best brands in the world… #LeBron #Beats #JohnnyFootball."

The D.C. rapper's fourth studio album, The Album About Nothing, is expected for release this fall but so far no date has been announced.
