LL Cool J Lends a Hand For New York Schoolkids

LL Cool J says it is important to help out kids in need.

The "NCIS" actor and hip-hop star handed out backpacks with school supplies to children in Jamaica, Queens, on Sunday.

He notes that a relatively small contribution can have a big effect on the families.

About 2,000 children attended the Worldstar Foundation event.

LL Cool J to Host ACM Special Saluting Military 

The rapper last month visited a group of young people at a New York City jail complex. On that trip, he told the audience that his rough upbringing could have had him where they are if things had worked out differently, and he encouraged them to believe in themselves.

"You can absolutely without a doubt do anything you put your mind to," he said.
